Naturally Simple

Wow! Two posts in one week!
;o)
Here is the second card for the Gel Press Paper Swap
that my bestie Carrie Rhoades and i did last week!
I was just playing with some acrylic paints, using some browns and tans, and it turned out looking like woodgrain! I was so very pleasantly surprised!!
I wanted the paper to do most of the talking on this one, so i kept the embellishments very simple, and in fact, i 'went green' by using an element that came from some gift wrapping that Carrie had given me a few weeks ago!!
The doily was also placed in the gel press with some green and gold colors, and the whole card face panel was splashed with some FSJ silks to give it some sparkle and shine! Lastly, i added a few gold pearls. Very simple and pared down. I wish the picture could pick up how nice it actually is in person.

NOW you have to hop over to Carrie's page to see what she made with her piece!!!

(This is so much fun!!)

Return of the Stamper!

Hello, everyone!
Well, it's been a while, for sure!
I've had many big shifts in my life the last few months, and am just now getting back to STAMPING!!!
oh, how i've missed it...
Today's card is extra fun, because the background paper was made by me! I used the Gel Press from FSJ to create it.... My bestie, Carrie, and i, are both in love with our Gel Presses! We can't stop making papers with it! We decided to do a paper swap with each other, and make cards with our favorites from the bunch and post the completed project!
Here is card #1 (3 more coming!) using a piece that was made using bubble wrap and paint....

There are a few things i'd like to improve on this card, but it was good to get back into cardmaking...
:o)

Ok, now you have to go to Carrie's blog and see what she made from her piece!!

Frozen Invitation Ideas Request from a Reader

Hello, everyone!
Today's post is a little different...
I had a request from a very kind reader for some ideas for a DIY invitation for a Frozen themed birthday party...
Unfortunately, i have a lot of things that have been taking most of my usual crafting time, and i am unable to spend a lot of time coming up with a concept of my own,
HOWEVER, i did do a quick search online for some good ideas, and i found several beautiful inspirations that i will share with you here!

Here are a few of my favorites!
I've posted links to each source, so be sure to visit these pages and give them support for their creations!
Disclaimer: I am only offering these images and links for inspiration only!!
I've tried to include ideas from easy to advanced.... and i will give little tips on how you can achieve something similar of your own!

Advanced
You can make an invitation similar to this using an e-cutter, or edge dies. This type of invitation would require more work, and papercrafting expertise, not to mention supplies. But would make a stunning, unforgettable invitation sure to impress!
Visit Page here:

Expert
The design of this card set is really cute... To make one similar, you would need to print the inside invitation, emboss each outer wrap, print, then punch out each circle image, Die Cut (or use e-cutter) the snowflakes to layer behind the circle image, then wrap the invitation with a strip of colored paper and sparkle ribbon.
It can be a bit of work, and you would have to have the supplies to make it with, but would make a memorable invitation!

Intermediate
For this one, it would be easy to have the main invitation panel printed from an inexpensive resource such as Vistaprint, or even from your own computer, you would have to design the wording and images yourself, but once you have done that, the rest is easy!
Once Printed, you can add your own sparkle touches with glitter and layer the white panel on a blue cardbase, and add a snowflake embellishment, or possibly some inexpensive
rhinestones to the card for an extra touch!
I love how the envelope in the picture has a sparkle band around it.
If you wanted, instead of a square card, you can make a standard size and wrap the ribbon around the lower portion of the invitation instead. I've seen some really beautiful ribbon that would work perfectly for this project! Find a quality ribbon and buy a spool using a good coupon, and this is a very cost effective, yet beautiful option that would only require a moderate amount of work and supplies!
Visit Page Here:

Beginner
The easiest, most cost effective, and quickest method, would be to use a pre-designed invitation, or to create your own digital design and have them printed.  To add a personal touch, maybe a little glitter, ribbon, or a rhinestone or two, just to give it a personal touch!

Tasty Trucks, Cycle Celebrations Shaker Birthday Card

I fussed a little more than i usually do for this card, but i'm so glad i did! The details make all the difference!
I used the brand new Sale-A-Bration set, Tasty Trucks, I also used several retired items, but they just went so well with this card!!
I stamped, then cut out the truck, then stamped and cut out the awning separate, used dimensionals on it, then stamped and cut out the banner. I then cut out the window and placed a window sheet and sequins to make it a shaker piece.  I also used the Cycle Celebrations (retired) set for the sentiment, and stamped it in Pool Party, then punched it out, then used my markers to individually color the same stamp, then punched that out and layered it on top.  I embossed the Pool Party strip using a retired embossing folder, then used the large gray striped paper from the Foxy Friends DSP, and stamped the little ice cream cones in Going Gray (retired)

Supplies:
Stamps -Tasty Trucks, Cycle Celebrations
Ink -Pool Party, Going Gray
Cardstock - Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate
Accessories - Sequins, Foxy Friends DSP, Window Sheets, Oval Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Needlepoint Border Textured Embossing Folder

This card was made for this weeks Picture Inspiration Challenge at Stampin' Royalty!
Here is the Picture Inspiration! So pretty!

This one is super quick and easy! (i might even make a video tutorial for this one!)
I have used the swiping technique before, and i wanted to make a color wash background with Pool Party, then after that dried, i stamped the main snowflake and sentiment with Real Red.
I added a few little snowflakes in Pool Party, some red sequins, and a rhinestone for the main snowflake. i gave it another quick simple wash with my Wink of Stella Glimmer Pen, and layered the whole thing....
These would be great for easy mass producing!

Supplies:
Stamps - Flurry of Wishes, Be Jolly By Golly, Tin of Tags
Cardstock - Real Red, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink - Pool Party, Real Red
Accessories - Brights Sequins, Rhinestones, Wink of Stella Glimmer Pen

Embellished Ornaments Gifts Card

It's funny how some of the best things happen unexpectedly!
I had just returned from a last minute week long trip, and needed to come up with the Stampin' Royalty challenge right away, as i was too busy while i was gone to get it done, but when i saw this picture inspiration, it luckily didn't take me long to come up with a design! maybe it was the time crunch pressure? haha...
I was inspired by the gifts in the main part of the picture... so pretty!
I liked making this card because i was able to use SCRAPS!! woohoo!! that always makes me happy!
It's pretty straight forward, i used the Holly Berry Builder Punch for the bows, and just layered everything. I think i'm gonna make a lot more to send out for Christmas!

Supplies:
Stamps - Embellished Ornaments
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Tip Top Paupe
Ink - Early Espresso
Accessories - Holly Berry Builder Punch, Gold Glimmer Paper, Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Cookie Cutter Christmas, Tin of Tags, Glitter Card

Here is my card for the All That Glitters Challenge at Stampin' Royalty this week!

This card took me entirely too long to figure out haha.... But i do like the end result.

We actually had a little challenge for our local stamping group, where we were all given the same 3 items (in this case, the stamped Eskimo image, the rope twine, and a strip of Designer Series Paper) and we were to take it home and create something with it, then share a picture on our group page.

I tried several different versions, and after a few hours, arrived at this card.
I typically would have shied away from these colors and would never have thought to use Delightful Dijon in a Christmas card, but behold! Stranger things have happened, i suppose!

I also incorporated Glitter for the Stampin' Royalty Challenge. There is glitter on his coat, and also highlighting the snowflake background stamping. Hard to see it in this photo, but looks really nice in person :o)

Supplies:
Ink - Delightful Dijon
Cardstock - Delightful Dijon, Basic Gray
Stamps - Cookie Cutter Christmas, Tin of Tags, Be Jolly By Golly
Accessories - Kraft Rope Trim, Warmth and Cheer DSP Stack, Rose Garden Thinlits, Gold Glitter

Little Moments, Made With Love Baby Card

Little babies are always a reason to celebrate!
We recently got an adorable bunny as a pet, and this little bunny stamp reminded me of him, so i decided to use it to make a card!
This card is mostly layering, i embossed the large Mint Macaron panel, and th hearts paper is from the Little Moments Project Life Accessory Pack, which is a great way to use the supplies from the Project Life Kits! Very versatile!
The wooden star also comes from that kit.
I basically stamped the bunny, then gave him a light 'shadow' around his body to help bring him off the page a bit, and colored his ear and nose pink.

Supplies:
Cardstock-Smoky Slate, Mint Macaron, Whisper White
Ink-Smoky Slate, Mint Macaron
Stamps-Made With Love
Accessories-Little Moments Project Life Accessory Pack, Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder

This card was made for this weeks Picture Inspiration Challenge over at Stampin' Royalty!

Isn't that fox bag the CUTEST THING IN ALL OF HISTORY!?!?!
I was obviously drawn to that image the most, but i also added elements of the circles (sequins) from the spider part, and the overall color scheme...

I really like the way this card turned out, and i was pleased that the design pretty much just came to me right away and i didn't have too much trouble putting it all together.

Cardstock - Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Basic Grey
Ink - Basic Grey
Stamps - Foxy Friends, Wetlands
Accessories - Window Sheets, A Little Foxy DSP, WoodGrain Embossing Folder, Circle Dies, Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Project Life Kit (wood leaf), Sequins, Foxy Friends Builder Punch

Sheltering Tree, Wetlands One Layer Card

It's a one layer card, pretty easy to make...
I first began by sponging the background colors in a 'sunset' and grass pattern, then i added the tree, and used the small 'leaf' or 'flower' stamp from the Sheltering Tree set in different colors to make the fall leaves, then added Wink of Stella Gold Shimmer to the stamped leaves to give it some sparkle!
Lastly, i added the rake and the "Thinking of You" to finish it off!

Easy peasy!

Supplies:
Ink- Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Delightful Dijon,
Tip Top Taupe, soft Suede
Stamps - Sheltering Tree, Wetlands
Paper - Thick Whisper White
Accessories - Sponges, Wink of Stella Gold Glimmer Pen

Foxy Friends, Labeler Alphabet Hello Card

The theme at Stampin' Royalty this week is a Color Challenge!

Here are the colors!

For this one, i was finally able to use my Foxy Friends stamp set for the first time! This set is one of the most adorable I've ever seen! you can make so many different critters with it! For this one, i made a little woodland fox who came to say hello!
I used the Woodgrain embossing folder to emboss the Tip Top Taupe piece for the background panel, then stamped the trees in Pear Pizzazz, 'stamping off' the first time for the largest  tree, then full ink strength for the second tree, then stamped again on a scrap piece, then cut out that tree...

On another scrap piece of Very Vanilla, i stamped the fox, the stump, the mushrooms and the sentiment letters, then either cut them out or punched them out, then created this scene. i added some strips of Early Espresso to finish off the look of the card

Supplies:
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps - Labeler Alphabet, Foxy Friends
Accessories - Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder, Fox Builder Punch

Rose Wonder, Seaside Sympathy Card

This card was made for the Anything Goes Challenge at Stampin' Royalty this week!
I made several Sympathy cards for an order that i needed to fill.
For this one, i used Sahara Sand cardstock and Crumb Cake ink, highlighted the shells using a White Chalk Marker, and lowlighted using the Crumb Cake and a Blender Pen.
I then used a sponge to create a mottled 'sand' effect on the panel, dabbing it between the shells. I also spattered white and crumb cake on the panel for even more visual texture.

After stamping and coloring, i ran the panel through my Big Shot using the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The sentiment and frame stamp is from the Rose Wonder set.

Supplies:

Ink - Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Cardstock - Sahara Sand Very Vanilla
Stamps - Rose Wonder, Seaside
Accessories - Eyelets, Twine, White Chalk Marker, Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
