My Wonderful Mother

The theme at Stampin' Royalty this week is MOM!!!
I truly have the best mom in the world and love her so much!
I was inspired by colors i thought she would like together to make this card. I heat embossed the butterfly in white, then used sponges to kind of 'color' the wings. I then cut the butterfly out and layered it on an embossed background piece. I heat embossed the sentiment and hand cut it out, and layered this one on also.  I used my glitter glue to add some sparkle to the butterfly, because you can never have enough sparkle, right? The card is very pretty in real life, and although she might just see this post, i am excited to give it to her for Mothers Day :o)

Stamps - Swallowtail, Delightful Dozen
Cardstock - Coastal Cabana
Ink - Tempting Turquoise, Summer Starfruit (for Butterfly sponging)
Accessories - White Embossing Powder, Glitter Glue, Sponges

Bloomin' Birthday

This weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is a Color Challenge! :o)

I actually found it challenging to put in both Daffodil Delight AND Summer Starfruit, because they are fairly similar in color. But i used it as one of the mats, on the center of the flowers, and the ink for the En Francais stamp used behind the sentiment.

Baby, Baby

The theme at Stampin' Royalty this weeks is Babies!

This card is fairly self explanatory, I die cut the moon as a circle, then ran it through again, creating a moon shape. I used my markers to create the stitching effect, and created 'stars' with silver glimmer paper.
after i had already made the card, i thought it would be cute to put a little punch art baby laying on the moon...
i guess i will have to make another!

Color Wheel

The Challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty is a Color Challenge!

I created a VERY simple card for this challenge, and i used placement and texture to 'fill out' the card and keep it interesting. I knew i would have the solid cardbase with no mats or anything, so i decided to emboss it so it had texture. The sentiment is heat embossed on Peach Parfait with white Embossing Powder.  The center of the flower was made by me, i used one of the eye punches for the Owl Builder punch, punched out a circle of white, glued Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on it, then covered it heavily in Crystal Effects and let it dry. It gives it kind of an opal look. :o)  One more thing i think i need to mention is that i put silver mini brads in the center of the wheels. not a lot of product used, and very simple to put together, but it has a finished look.

Celebrating with Candles

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a Sketch Challenge!
Here is the sketch...

I really adore this sketch and believe i will use it many many times!
But for today, i used it on this birthday card!
I knew there would be a lot of patterns on it, so i decided that the circle should just be an embossed solid. Beyond that, it is just layering, and i used White Embossing Powder for the sentiment portion :o)

A Different Angle

The challenge at Stampin' Royalty for the week is a Picture Inspiration Challenge!
Here is the inspiring picture...

It is probably obvious as to what i gathered my inspiration from...the 'handrawn' look of the images on the plates, the pattern on the bottom right..the arrows, the triangles, the colors...

I think the card explains itself, but here are the other details:

Supplies:
cardstock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink - Basic Black
Stamps - Yipee Skippee

A Burst of Happy

The Challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty is a Color Challenge!
The picture makes the Pistachio look really bright, but i promise, it is Pistachio Pudding :o)
I will admit that i kind of threw this card together, but i had the idea for the scrap piece halo(and yes, they are supposed to be offset)  around the main sentiment first. so i had made that portion before the rest of the card, then put the rest of it together. it really is better looking in real life than the picture makes it look haha. And using a bit of Silver Glimmer Paper always makes everything that much better!

Supplies:
Ink - Early Espresso, Pistachio Pudding
Cardstock - So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Stamps - Yippee Skippee, Gorgeous Grunge
Accessories: Silver Glimmer Paper, Silver Ribbon, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

Stay Gold

Do you like my Outsiders reference in my title? :o)
This weeks Stampin Royalty Theme is Gold!
I am really digging the whole diagonal look on cards recently. i do tend to be very structured in my design thinking, and diagonal is a way to stay structured (to appease my inner OCD) while making things a little extra fun!
This card is cuter in person than what the picture portrays. the lighting was bad, and it is hard to get the shine of the gold in my normal photograph set up.
But hopefully you get the idea :o)

I started by using the negative of one of the larger stamps from Daydream Medallions on Whisper White, and i embossed with Gold embossing powder.  then for the strip across the middle, i layered the Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape over a white strip, then i used my Gold marker to run across the sides to give it a border. Then i layered it on a larger strip of Pool Party. The sentiment is from an older stamp set, and stamped in Smoky Slate. For the mat behind the sentiment punch, i just cut around the edges to match the outline of the punched piece.

A Little Means a Lot

This weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is Clean and Simple!
This one is fairly simple, i suppose, as far as design goes, but it does take a little bit of fussing and here is why...
In order to get the decorative band across the middle, i cut a strip of Whisper White and had to use my Stampamajig to stamp the image so it would line up. Not too difficult, but still you have to be careful when you stamp. Luckily, i got it on the first try and didn't have to do it a second time haha.
Then I layered that piece with another piece of whisper white, just to give it a 'raised beveled' look.

On a Piece of Whisper White, i cut it to fit on the card, then determined where i was going to place my decorative strip. I drew a line in pencil just above the bottom of where it would sit. I then used my marker to color the 'thanks' portion of the "Awesome, Thanks" stamp from the Yippee Skippee set. I stamped it just below the line i had drawn. again, i lucked out and it worked the first time! :oD
I adhered the decorative strip, then used my Simply Scored to create the diagonal embossed lines above the strip and below the wording. Lastly I added a couple strips of rhinestones  to finish it off and make it look purrty.

Supplies:

Ink - Calypso Coral, Basic Gray
Cardstock - Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Stamps - Yippee Skippee, Mosaic Madness
Accessories - Simply Scored, Rhinestones,

Can You Picture It?

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a Picture Inspiration Challenge!

I happen to like polka dots, so i was inspired by the polka dots on the blue plate in the upper right. Of course, the flowers were a part of it too :o)

Show Your Colors!

Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, and Sahara Sand.

I Cut the small mosaics out by hand and used the Mosaic Punch to punch the Silver Glimmer paper, then cut it in half and layered it with the top piece. I used markers to color the sentiment stamps. This is a fairly simple card, not too many complicated layers...the hardest part is getting the stamps lined up right, but that is what the Stampamajig is for! :oD

Supplies:
Ink: Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, and Sahara Sand
Stamps: Remembering Your Birthday, Mosaic Madness
Paper: Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Pool Party
Accessories: Silver Glimmer Paper, Mosaic Punch, Circle Punches, Rhinestones. Markers
