Lots 'O' Layers!

here is my sample card for this weeks Picture Inspiration challenge at Stampin' Royalty!

If you look carefully at this card, you will see there is nothing fancy that couldn't easily be recreated by you :o)

I did cut out the wording by hand, which can take a little practice and patience, but you could also stamp in the bottom right corner before embossing, which was my original plan, but forgot to stamp it before embossing....see, none of us are perfect! haha!

Taking Notes

my sample project for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Anything Goes challenge is a fancy Notepad holder!

I used a sheet of Naturals White for the cover, because it is a night sturdy weight. I measured my notepad,  then cut and scored it accordingly, making sure to remember the depth of the sides, then die cut the top edge. 

I then opened the cardstock base up, stamped the images after using just regular thin paper as a mask on the 'back' part to keep the ink only on the front where i wanted it, 'highlighted' the leaves with gumball green using my blender pens, then added some butterflies and a piece of patterned paper that fit the top flap.  lastly, i adhered ribbon that i had made into a bow, and I used a thick circle of Tombow Glue on the underside of the flap that i allowed to dry so as to make it tacky, but you can use magnets, snaps, buttons, velcro, etc. I then used Sticky Strip on the back of the notepad to adhere it to the cover. This was actually a pretty easy project, even with making it from scratch through trial and error.

Somewhere, Beyond the Sea

Here is my sample card for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Picture Inspiration Challenge! 

I used a few different techniques on this card, most notably the main panel. i heat embossed the shell in White on Night of Navy cardstock,, then used white craft ink to kind of 'distress' the edges and also kind of fill in the shell so it looked highlighted. The striped portion on the bottom was done by gluing down strips of Night of Navy cardstock. The background paper was done by stamping a coordinating shell in Night of Navy ink in a random pattern, then kind of shading the insides with my blender pen. I also spattered some ink to distress it further. I used white gel pen to make the stitching, and Night of Navy to do the stitching on the main panel and sentiment portion. :o)

Turned Upside Down

Wondering what i mean by the title of this post? i'll tell ya. I glued the patterned paper upside down on this card haha! didn't realize it till the card was almost finished! so i decided to just finish it up, take a picture, and call it unique. hahaha! 

This is my sample card for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which is a color challenge. 

Once i decided on the design, it was pretty easy and fun to put together. I began by cutting out the panels, one solid of the larger die, then the second, i used the same die with the smaller die inside it to make a frame.

I then traced the inside of the frame to the solid piece, so i would have a guide as to where to place my scraps. then i just put adhesive all over that area, and started placing scraps in varied textures, patterns and sizes diagonally until the area was covered. i then glued the frame over it.
The rest kind of speaks for itself!

Tied Up in Knots

This weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is to make Masculine cards

This one is very easy to do...

I inked the stamps in Craft White, then after stamping, i sprinkled clear embossing powder on the images, shook off the excess, then used my heat gun to melt the powder. It is hard to see in the picture, but the images are raised and shiny! adds a little extra texture and dimension!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Cards

This week at Stampin' Royalty, the challenge is a Picture Inspiration

I really like the feel of the pictures in the collage, very soft and serene. There are so many things to take inspiration from, and so many pretty details for the eye to feast on.

Using My Colors!

Stampin' Royalty's challenge this week is a Color Challenge, and it was a challenge for me to use them! not so much that i had trouble with the colors, it was just cutting into my cardstock and patterned paper, and especially that fabulous button! I am kind of funny that way! i need to force myself to stop hoarding!! 

The colors are Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, and Summer Starfruit.  I had made a mask for the flower so i could sponge around it with the green. I VERY lightly sponged more of the blue on the flower just to give it a little color. I layered the butterfly, added a pearl and a button. this card was actually pretty easy to make,. but turned out really pretty, i think!

For my Wonderful Mother

This is my sample card for this weeks Stampin' Royalty challenge! 

It's a picture Inspiration Challenge, and here is the image:

I really loved this picture, and there is so much you can draw inspiration from! the things that stood out most to me were the bird plate, and the cute picture frame. 

I stamped a Very Vanilla panel with the flower stamp in Riding Hood Red first, then ran it through the Tulip Frame embossing folder, then i used my Simply Scored to make the straight frame on the inside. after that, it was pretty easy...stamp the images in Soft Suede, then using my blender pens, i color them, cut them out, and sponge the edges lightly with Riding Hood Red. This card was really not that complicated, it just looks like it was!

B is for Baby!

Here is my submission for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which is a Baby Theme! 

This was actually pretty easy to put together once i figured out how i wanted to place everything.

I colored the stamp with markers, then paper pieced the sail portion, then added a button and a cute little heart :o)

The letter was die cut first, then run through the embossing folder secondly. i used the corner rounder on all of the image panels.

This weeks Theme at Stampin' Royalty is Ribbons and Pearls!

Here is my card using both of those wonderful little items!

This card was actually pretty easy, but i should explain that the blue part behind the main sentiment was done by using the actual Die to trace the outside of it onto the Midnight Muse cardstock, then cut out to make the mat.

Another Masculine Birthday Card!

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a Sketch Challenge! 

I know my main image is a little off-kilter....believe me, it is the thing that sticks out to me most in this picture! haha! The camera seems to really make it more prominent too! 

I used markers to color the stamp, and the Cupcake Builder Punch for the Candles. I used Silver Glimmer Paper for the flames. :o)

Spring is Here!

This weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is  Picture Inspiration Challenge! 

here is the photo:

I was inspired by the colors, the textures, and the shine :o)

For the most part, this card is pretty simple, but one bit of advice is that i would Die-cut the white panel first, THEN use the embossing folder on it, otherwise you will smoosh your embossing....found that out the hard way ;o)

I heat embossed the sentiment in Silver Embossing powder for the shine, and added a faceted button, inspired by the pretty glass in the picture

Clean Baby!

Here is my sample for This Weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which is Clean and Simple! 

I actually was inspired by this card, made by Deanna at Kloset Kreations. Loved her card! Thanks, Deanna, for the inspiration!

Since this card is so simple (and clean!) it doesn't take much explaining, except for the letters...

I used marker to color the individual letters from the "happy birthday" stamp in the "Best Dad Ever" stamp set, then punched them out using the Owl Builder punch. I used the part for the larger parts of the eyes.  I also used my Simply Scored to make some score lines to put the letters across. :o)
