This week at Stampin' Royalty is a Picture Inspiration Challenge!
here is the inspiration:
I loved the colors in the original, so i used that, along with the pumpkins, the vertical lines of the candles, and the pop of color like you see in the flowers of the cake image.
I made the pumpkins using two different circle punches, and the leaves using the Bird Builder punch.
How i did the background:
I inked the embossing folder using Pool Party Ink, so that only on the 'recessed' portion would be inked. after running a piece of Whisper White cardstock through, this is the final result you will get.

*a little tip is that before you lift the paper from the folder, make sure to kind of rub the back of the paper so that you will get a fairly even inking.
The pumpkins were punched from Pumpkin Pie cardstock then layered to look like pumpkins, also some Whisper White Craft Ink was sponged along the tops to give them dimension.. The leaves are punched from Soft Suede cardstock using the Bird Builder punch.
The sentiment was from the Sheltering Tree set, and the little 'brad' on the side was made by punching out a small circle, gluing it down, then covering it with Crystal Effects. This is how i make my own custom 'brads' or 'epoxy elements'. :o)
Supplies:
Stamps - Sheltering Tree
Ink - Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock - Whisper White, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede
Accessories - Woodland Embossing Folder, Circle Punches, Bird Builder Punch, Crystal Effects

JUST NOW seeing your card for last week, it's FREAKING AMAZING. Funny thing is I forgot to click over to Stampin' Royalty and stumbled upon it on Pinterest and was like "What is awesome amazing piece of art before my eyes!" Then I was like, "Shut up! That's Georgie's card". Followed by, "Wow, I love that girl!"

ReplyDeleteLove this card. Inspiration for me to buy that embossing folder. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteGreat when I use items that I currently own. I just love the embossing folder and am just starting to find all the ways it can be used. I also, inked it, but didn't get the results I wanted. So I brushed the ink pad over the raised tree trunks and loved the way it looked. Thanks for the inspiration to try again inking the folder.

ReplyDeleteHi Georgeann! Love the beauty and simplicity of your card and happily, I have all the supplies. I especially love this card for Halloween since I don't particularly like "spooky" cards. Thank you for sharing your creation.
