A Card, A Cage, and a Challenge...

Normally, sketches are the easiest challenges for me to do, but not this week! I was actually the one who made the sketch and I had trouble making my own card! haha! Well, after about an hour of trying to decide, and then another hour and a half of putting it all together, here is the finished sample for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge!

Hopefully my time and effort will help take the guess work out for you so that you will be able to put together a similar card quickly!

So this weeks Stampin' Royalty challenge card is for a Picture Inspiration. What stood out to me most was the lines and the colors of the picture. I tried to mimic those in this card. The present was made freehand, i just took a scrap of Pretty in Pink that was square, cut a slight angle on each side, then put it on a piece of Melon Mambo and cut around it...then the bow is actually a circle punch with pie pieces cut out of it. of course the ribbon on the present is a scrap strip and the polka dots were made using the Owl Punch. I added 3 pink buttons from the Subtles Buttons, Stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo, added some Melon Mambo Ribbon, some Rhinestones, and did a little piercing then put it all together!

Love is in the air for this weeks challenge over at Stampin' Royalty!

With the theme this week as Valentines day/Love, what better to represent that then super sparkly red hearts and a kiss! I have gone with a somewhat simplistic non fussy design design again, because i'm not a fussy person. : )

It's pretty self explanatory, but i should mention that i did have to cut out the sentiment panel and mat to fit inside the Curly Label piece.

Birds and Buttons

The challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty is a Picture Inspiration Challenge! As you can see, i took my inspiration from the whole picture...the blue of the dishes, green from the limes, yellow from the flowers and the lemons, brown from the fence, the silver birdcage....the design of the card actually came pretty easy. The buttons were one of those things that i added almost at the last minute, because it needed something extra. the buttons are my favorite part of the card! I was finally able to convince myself to actually USE my supplies instead of hoarding them! This was one of the things i told myself i would do in the new year! Glad i did!

Shake the Present!

Here is my card for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which is a Color Challenge!
Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Lucky Limeade, and Crumb Cake!

This one is a shaker card, and besides a few steps, was actually not very difficult!
Once you have your panels, ink up your stamp with either markers or you can ink up the whole stamp in one color and wipe off the "happy" part of it and use a marker to color that part, then once you have stamped it, you clean the stamp and ink up in Crumb Cake to do the more subtle words on the white. I texture embossed the Crumb Cake panel and punched out the scallops.
The Shaker portion was done by stamping the image on a scrap of white, then i punched a hole in the main panel and used the Shaker frames to hold a window sheet on the piece, i then glued it to the back of the main panel where the hole had been punched, i then layered a mat and scalloped circle over the top of that. Put it all together and you have a card!

The Fabric of My Heart

The Stampin' Royalty Challenge this week is to use fabric in your project, and i did just that! I recycled a Valentine candy box from last year, embossed some Cherry Cobbler cardstock, adhered it to the lid, then trimmed around the edges to get the heart. I then used a scrap strip of fabric stretched diagonally across the top, then tied a bow in the middle, and added an Antique Brad to the center. I then stamped the tag and punched out the pieces, then added some rhinestones to the tag, but they are hard to see in the picture.

This is a great idea to recycle candy boxes!

Sketchy Love

This card was made using the sketch from this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge!

I really wanted this card to sparkle, so i used the super fun Red Glitter paper for the hearts, then added some rhinestones to each heart and the sentiment panel! can never have too much bling!
After i had put this together, i thought it would be really cute to have made the sentiment portion a tag with a cute bow of either ribbon or bakers twine...might have to make another one with that!
The sentiment and patterned paper are both retired but VERY easily substituted!

Yay for New Stamps!!

I just love getting new stamps, don't you? I had gotten a bunch of new stamp sets and hadn't had a chance to use them because i was stampin my little heart out with all my Christmas stamps, so my others got neglected and sad : (
So now that Christmas is past, i was finally able to show some love to my other sets!
This card was made for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which is a color challenge.

To make the card, i stamped all the images after inking them with markers, then cut out the images. I stamped the balloons directly onto the white panel so that the strings would show. I also stamped the argyle directly onto the bottom because i didn't need to pop that up like the rest of the images. Then i just added the images to their spots using Dimensionals, and added some strategic rhinestones. This really wasn't difficult, just a little time consuming, but if you have all your markers right there and know how you want to color them, it really isn't that difficult. You could also stamp directly onto the paper to save some time on this.

Shake It to the Left, Shake it to the Right...

Shake, it, shake it, shake it!! I officially made my very first Shaker card!! Here is is in all it's glittery glory! it really was fun making it!
This was made as this weeks sample card for Stampin' Royalty.
I used a lot of retired items, and a few current/new things as well, but the retired items are very easily substituted.
The only thing that might need a little explanation as to how i did it is the shaker portion.
I actually used a piece from a retired kit for the scalloped circle, but you can use your largest scallop circle punch, just be sure to punch the center out first THEN the scallop circle. I actually recycled a clear plastic piece from some packaging, or you can use window sheets.
After stamping my image and coloring it, i put the ultra fabulous Shaker Frames on top of that first, so there is a place to put all the fun Micah flakes, glitter and beads! Then i put the clear sheet and paper frame on top of that. then you put the whole thing on your card!

Snowmen are so cute! I have used them on these two cards that again, very similar, but each unique. You can take any layout/design and adjust it to however simple or fancy you want it! If you look at the first card, you will see it is pretty simple, actually. I used the snowflake patterned paper to my advantage and worked around it. So if you only have a few minutes to work on a card, you can go that route.

the second one has a few extra steps, So if you want to put a little more time into your card, go for it! but each one works!

Notice how all 3 of these cards are very similar? This is a great example of a way to make each card unique but use a very similar layout/idea. So if you see a card or layout you like, go ahead and utilize it to it's fullest potential! Go get creative!

This weeks Picture Inspiration at Stampin' Royalty is so pretty! This card almost immediately came to mind, and really is not that difficult to do!

I used the largest and regular Scallop circle punches in Real Red to make the wreath, Lucky Limeade punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch for the trim, Old Olive Ribbon, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder for the White and Wreath pieces, Welcome Christmas Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade ink, and Real Red cardbase.
I added some Rhinestones, and all done!

I Was Framed!

I am very late posting this project (two weeks late!!) but i wanted to be sure i posted it before posting this weeks Stampin' Royalty project!

This was for the "Anything BUT a Card" Challenge. I made a fairly simple framed art.
I used Pear Pizazz Patterned Paper, Real Red and Bashful Blue Buttons, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, and the Many Merry Messages Stamp Set. Also some Silver string.
I had layered the main image under kind of a "mat" that I sponged around the edges and put the trim on. I used Glue dots to secure the buttons and put the sentiment on Dimensionals. It really didn't take long at all!

This week i am going back to my "roots" and posting a Scrapbook page!
This one was made for this week's Stampin' Royalty Challenge.

If you break down the page, it is really pretty easy. I just used a sheet of Patterned Paper with an existing image on it, cut it down slightly and put it on a mat or Always Artichoke, placed my photos, took some chipboard letters and covered them with scraps of coordinating patterned paper,, sponged the edges of them for consistency, place a few strategic buttons, and added my own writing

And as a last added detail to make the page unique, i doodled around the edge and put glitter on the existing image.

I made this card for this week's Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which is a sketch challenge! I just love all things Christmas! So of course, i had to make a sparkly fun Christmas card!

A bit of advice...i tried cutting out the glitter snowflakes and had a pretty rough time of it. I had to use a strip of extra cardstock over it to really get the blades to cut, and i also had to put the glitter side facing AWAY from the blades so that the thick paper backing would cut better. even then , i still had a little trouble with it, so i would say maybe test one small portion first until you can get them to cut easier. or you can just cut out a snowflake using regular paper and put glitter on it : )

I'm Back!!

I promise, i didn't fall off the face of the earth!
I have been away because we just bought our very first house!! It was kind of a very big transition from our last place to this one, and i have been super duper busy!! and I really wanted to create something for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, so i challenged myself to finish a card before 11 pm on Tuesday night, which had given me about an hour and a half to finish one, but i did it!! Here is the result! there are one or two things i would change if i had more time, but i am pretty happy with it! It looks so much better in person, but i just didn't have time to adjust the picture enough to reflect that...
So here is what i used:

Hi, Pumpkin!

So here is my interpretation of this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge picture inspiration!
For some reason this card reminds me of my son. I'm sure you are wondering why : )
I always called him my Punkin' Head. (he always had a big head haha!) of course, he didn't have little flowers and leaves sticking out of his head....
Anyways, I began with More Mustard cardbase, added Very Vanilla as a mat and then More Mustard Patterned Paper. This particular pattern is retired, but you can substitute with a current one, and it would still look great! Then i added 3 strips of vanilla and More Mustard across the middle. I punched 3 flowers in Daffodil Delight from the Boho Blossoms punch, then 5 large ovals out of Pumpkin Pie. I also punched the leaves from the bird punch in Old Olive. I layered the ovals to create a pumpkin and added all the little pieces together. The "hi" is made from the negative of some chipboard letters i got last year. I traced the inside onto Concord Crush patterned paper and cut them out. Put them on Dimensionals, added a little flower to dot the "i" and added stitching with my Pumpkin Pie marker!

Here are 3 Christmas cards that really aren't that difficult to make but look really pretty! Just put some patterned paper on a cardbase, emboss with gold embossing powder on gold paper, either cut them out, make them a panel, or die cut them with an oval, etc, put them on the card and add a few embellishments....you can do that!

a K.I.S.S. for You!

Today's card is for the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #91, a K.I.S.S. challenge!
We are keeping things simple this week, and this card may looks nice without a lot of fuss!

I have a panel on this card because i messed up on the cardbase but didn't want to waste it, so i made a panel to cover up my mistake : ) so technically, you could make this a 1, 2, or 3 layer card, depending on how fancy you want to get.

First i used my wonderful, wonderful, wonderful Simply Scored to make the lovely embossed lines (oh my gosh, it was so quick and easy!) it took me all of about 20 seconds or less to do these lines.
I inked up the leaf wreath using my markers, but if you wanted to make it even quicker, you could in ink in all one color, OR you could use Sponge Daubers to add different colors to different areas (just be sure to start with the lightest color first!)

Then on a seperate scrap piece (or you could stamp directly on the cardbase if you wanted) i stamped the wreath, then punched out the center first, then the scallop circle, used a piece of ribbon to make a bow, wrapped it around the wreath, added dimensionals, and popped it on the card. I then inked the sentiment in More Mustard and stamped directly on the cardbase.
looking at the description, it looks like a lot, but if you break it down, it is very easy! you could also translate this VERY easily into a Christmas card that would be super fast to mass produce!

Christmas is for anytime of year, right! This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a Sketch Challenge!
As you see, i have utilized the sketch to create a Christmas card! I started with Crumb Cake cardstock, and used Pool Party patterned paper (love it!), layered them, then added some gold brads, used Gold Embossing powder to make the trees and sentiment, silhouette cut them out, used dimensionals to put them on, an there you have it!

This weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is a sweet treat! a picture inspiration! and oh, those cupcakes look yummy! I think it's so cute how they are cupcakes, but look like ice cream sundaes!

I'm sure you are wondering where that cupcake on my card came from...i will tell you!
That is actually my own creation, i had made my own template for a fairly large cupcake last year, and pulled it out to make this card. I used the cupcake punch for the whipped cream part.

So all in all, here is how i put this little card together:

Candy Cane Christmas paper. (oh, how i LOVE that paper!!!! they need to bring it back!!)

A Color Challenge, Indeed!!

Hello all! This weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge lived up to it's name for me! golly, i don't know why i had so much trouble coming up with a card this week! I will attribute it to my very hectic life recently.
I was able to get all the colors in, but i will admit that the patterned paper is Lucky Limeade : )
and that was because i absolutely could not put this card together unless there was green patterned paper there, and it just so happens Lucky Limeade is the only green patterned paper i have! But the middle part is Certainly Celery, so i think I'm safe. haha!

I snuck in the Daffodil Delight in one of the mats and the frosting on the cupcake. the buttons look like candy drops, don't they? I think they do.

For this card, i used the colors Concord Crush, Certainly celery, Tangerine Tango, and Daffodil Delight. I also used the corner rounder, and the Ribbon Border Punch, buttons, a bling, and the Easy Events stamp set.

today's project was one i made for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge! Back to School!

at first i was having trouble deciding what i wanted to make. But i knew i had these cute pics of my little girl from when she went to Kindergarten, and thought i would finally do something with them! Did somebody say... Scrapbook page?! Of course!
I was able to make this whole page from scratch in about an hour. I created the "lined paper" background myself, and added all the elements easily. a little adjusting of the placement, size and colors, a few shadows, and i was finished! I really like how it turned out, actually! hope you do too!

Another One for Ya!

ugh! i really dislike this whole "busy" thing....it is keeping me from my stamping!! Well, this one is a card i made a few weeks ago and just got to posting. It's pretty simple once you kind of realize there are only a few elements on the card. I used the Oval punch to make the flower, stamped and cut out the birdy, silhouette cut the main sentiment, and added a butterfly!

Gosh, life just doesn't seem to slow down for anything, does it? ha! I have been wanting to get in there and work in my craft room, but i hope things slow down for me so i can get back to normalcy! (and stamping!)

That Sparkle in you Eyes...

Oh, this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is extra exciting!!! Its all about things that sparkle!! What girl doesn't like things that sparkle? I know i do!

You know, when i sit down and try to visualize what i want to make each week, i have to say it is very rare it comes out just as i envisioned. Well, i have to say that this card was almost exactly what i pictured! I had even made a rough sketch before i began. The white portion was a little different than i would have liked, but it works. : )

I began by doing the main panel, i cut a rectangle of Bermuda Bay, then a panel of Pool Party that i cut freehanded in a wavy pattern, then repeated with a panel of Whisper White. I then glued them together, and added stitching using Going Grey marker. I die cut several snowflakes using the Northern Frost die, then i inked the sentiment stamp from Contempo Christmas using markers. I then stamped it and cut it out. After adhering everything on the card, i added lots and lots of pretties!! (rhinestones)
I put it all on a few different mats of Whisper White, Pool Party, and a Bermuda Bay cardbase.
I know that Bermuda Bay is retired, but this card would look equally as pretty with different shades of blue...or even pink....(i might have to try that one!)

Hello friends! I know i have been away for a while, but this time i have good reason! First i was at convention, second, i had a medical emergency, and lastly, I have been working behind the scenes over at Stampin' Royalty. There were a few changes, and i had volunteered to be the new moderator for the blog, so I had to kind of do a lot of things in a short amount of time! but I am really excited about this opportunity, and am looking forward to whats ahead!

Ok, so having got that out of the way, here is my project for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge! Yes, i know, it's another scrapbook page, but that was due to my lack of being able to get out of bed and upstairs into my craft room, but i had my laptop! So I was still able to be creative! One of the thousands of reasons i love My Digital Studio!

Ok friends! here is my project for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge! The theme this week is SUMMER!! as you can see, we had gone to the beach a few months back, and there is nothing that says "summer" more than the beach! I used My Digital Studio to create this scrapbook page. I wanted to go simple with the feel so that the pictures really caught your attention. I gave it the look of sand and a little bit of swirl to mimic the waves coming up on the sand. I put the cute little flip-flops in a color that matches the sunset picture, placed the two pictures at the top of the page, used simple letters and really it was so easy to put together. I just had to get the placement right because i am kind of a stickler for that haha! Here it is! you can totally do this! so get scrappin!

A Tisket A Tasket...

She's so cute holding her Easter Basket!
It's a Sketch Challenge this week at Stampin' Royalty!

I used the sketch to create a digital scrapbook page of my daughter from this past Easter. She looked so pretty in her dress (and sneakers! haha!) I was able to create this page in an afternoon, and the best part about it was i was trying to find a matching color for the background and was having trouble, so i was able to use the picker feature and "grab" a color from the picture itself to use as a main background color (the dark brown) and it all worked out perfectly! I love my MDS!!

here is the card for Stampin' Royalty's Inspiration challenge from last week. I was a little slow getting this posted due to the fact i was having the time of my life at CONVENTION!!!!!! I cannot begin to tell you how much fun it is!! Well, maybe i will try to tell you in a post within the next few days : )

So I made this card using Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand, and Bashful Blue cardstock, I used the Scalloped Square punch to punch the flower petals and then used my sponge daubers to create the color variation in the centers. I punched the little flowery centers using the Boho Blossoms punch, then added pearls and dots using my Basic Black marker. I stamped the sentiment with the Sincere Salutations set in Cajun Craze ink, punched it out with the large oval punch, added some sponging around the edges and finished it off with some pearls!

I love the color combination for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge! Pacific Point, Pear Pizazz, and Pink Pirouette! To be honest, i had a little trouble coming up with a card (seems to be the norm with me lately!) but after trying a few different things, i was able to come up with this card! I used the above mentioned colors of cardstock, the Season of Friendship and Aviary stamp sets, the Boho Blossoms punch, and those wonderful little pearls!

After stamping the tree in Pear Pizazz, I cut it out (yes, it was a little tedious, but it didn't take long!) then i cut the 'grass' pieces by hand, punched out the flowers in pink, then used markers to color that ADORABLE little owl then cut him out. I stamped the sentiment on a scratch piece of Whisper White, then cut one side like a 'banner'. I put dimensionals on the tree, owl, sentiment banner, and the top grass piece, then added stitching with markers.

Ok! I know it has been forever, but Super Simple Monday has returned! This card is actually a swap that i made for CONVENTION!!!! I am super excited about convention which is in one week!!! I can't wait!

For this one I used the leftover piece from the top note die (great way to use scraps!) and stamped the birdcage in black, then the little birdies from the Aviary set in Elegant Eggplant, it is hard to see in the photo, but there is a little rhinestone on the bottom of the birdcage for some sparkle! This card is actually pretty easy to make! I will have another card made with the same layout on one of my upcoming posts!

This Weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is a sketch challenge!
As you can see, i have made a birthday card (seems to be popular with me, heehee!) I wanted to use bright colors, so i picked the brightest ones in my cardstock box, and started creating! the best part about this card is that it uses minimal amounts of cardstock but packs a big color punch!

I used Pacific Point, Real Red, and Daffodil delight cardststock, a red button from the Bold Brights buttons, some ribbon, and the Bring on the Cake set for the image. the dotted scallop ribbon border punch, the large oval punch, and the perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. and that little bit of bling!!

Todays card is made for this weeks Stampin Royalty Challenge, which was a picture inspiration challenge. as you can see, i mostly took my inspiration from the color scheme, and you may be wondering where i got the polka dots from. Well, if you look at the rug on the inspiration picture, you will see there are polka dots there! i don't know why those caught my eye, but they did, and i went from there. I always find it interesting how everyone interprets a photograph differently, and it is always so wonderful to see that in the projects they create. I would love to see how you interpret this weeks picture!

This card was made with Pink Pirouette, Going Grey, and Whisper White cardstock, Pink Pirouette, Going Grey and Regal Rose ink, Cupcake punch, white buttons, and some rhinestones, the stamp is from the Bring on the Cake set, and the DSP is from the Neutral collection. oh, and how could i forget... some glitter to finish it off!

Fathers Day is just around the corner, so it's time to get started on those cards for dear ol' dad!

When trying to come up with this card, i first thought, ok, what kind of things would i attribute to a father. well, lots of things went through my mind, but i started thinking about shirts, and originally i thought about a bowling shirt theme, but it wasn't working out, so then i thought, ok, button up striped shirt, and maybe a belt. so from there, it evolved into the card in the picture. originally it was supposed to be like the cuff of a striped shirt (see the button placement?) but when i look at it, it looks more like a off white shirt, belt, and striped pants. haha! anyway, i hope it helps you come up with a nice card for dad, i am sure whatever you give him, he will love!

For this card i used sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, and Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Chocolate Chip DSP, Chocolate Chip Buttons, and the All Holidays stamp set stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Sahara Sand cardstock.

A Colorful Day!

Hooray for color! you know, i have always had trouble using bright colors, even though i really love them! So, if you are like me, and have trouble in that department, this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is a great way to get motivated!

The colors for the challenge are Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight. The cardbase is Melon Mambo, with a mat of Daffodil Delight. I then took a Whisper White panel, punched out circles in different sizes, and glued them on the white in a random pattern. I then ran the whole piece through the Big Shot using the lattice embossing folder. I then stamped the cupcake from Crazy about Cupcakes on whisper white, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight. I cut out each and paper pieced them to create this cupcake. I colored the sprinkles with Wild Wasabi marker. Then I cut peices for the main image panel in Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi, and Whiper White. I layered them , added the cupcake, and then used dimensionals to put it on the card. on a scrap piece of white, i stamped the sentiment in Staz On, then, starting with the smaller circle punch, i punched out below the sentiment, then punched out the piece using a larger circle punch. Last but not least, i added the sparklies!!! I put 2 sizes of rhinestones on the corners to give it some shine!

Sketch Challenge!

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a sketch challenge! I took a little bit of liberty with the sketch, but kept the basics. But it gives you an idea of how you can take a sketch and make it your own! Use it as an inspiration! or you can translate it literally to your project if you are more comfortable that way. all in all, it is about creating something and having fun doing it!

For this card, i used Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive cardstock, and Rose Red Designer Seiries Paper. I punched out the flower using the biggest Scallop Circle punch, sprayed them with water, crumpled them up, then set them aside to let them dry.

I used the scallop trim punch for the 'ribbon', the Four Frames set to stamp the sentiment panel in Cherry Cobbler, stamped the Thank You in Basic Black from the Because I care set, punched it out with the decorative label punch, then punched out a frame in Cherry Cobbler. add a few pearls, a couple leaves, and a button, and you have a card!

Hello, all! I have been away on vacation the last 2 weeks, but i am home safe now!

This project is for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which features birds!

I made a scrapbook page of my little girl and me using My Digital Studio. Let me tell you how much i love this program! we got home on Sunday evening, and i needed to have a project for this week by that night. I went to my trusty MDS, and put this page together in about an hour. (actually, the one on the Stampin' Royalty page!) i did go back later and added/adjusted a few things, but all in all, it took me only about an hour and a half to complete this project! not bad! what i love about it is you CAN make adjustments, change colors around, change sizes, ect. Love that MDS!

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is a sketch challenge!

I had been wanting to make a scrapbook page of my daughters 2nd grade picture, and this sketch seemed perfect for it!

I used the Paisly Petals Designer Seiries paper (will be available in a few days!) Bravo Burgundy cardstock, some chipboard letters pressed into Whisper White Craft ink, then sprinkled with Irridescent Ice embossing powder, some buttons from the brights collection, and a strip of bravo burgundy cardstock punched with the Dotted Scallop Robbon Border punch.

Watercoloring! that is this weeks theme at Stampin' Royalty!

I watercolored the hydrangea first by giving the whole flower a wash of Bashful Blue, then just going in and putting Concord Crush on certain areas to give it dimension. I used Wild Wasabi for the leaves.

The cardbase if Concord Crush, the the paper is from the In Colors Hostess Paper Pack. I have used a Button from the Brights Button pack. I used markers in Concord Crush and Basic Black to color the sentiment, I punched it out using the oval punch.

I handmade the little presents. easier than it looks! I just took a couple scrap pieces, and cut them in this shape (really easy!) added the polka dots and the little strips , and used circles with wedges cut out of them for the bows.

Spring!!!! That is this weeks theme over at Stampin' Royalty! ahhh, spring. we had a little teaser of spring here yesterday! haha! we have had a very long winter, and i am ready for it to warm up, to see some birds and butterflies, and to go out into the sunshine! For this card, i started with some Daffodil Delight for a mat, then a patterned paper panel. I didn't put these on the cardbase yet, because i will need to put brads on it before putting in on the cardbase. I embossed the lily from the Fifth Avenue Floral onto watercolor paper with white embossing powder, then watercolored them, cut them out, and punched some leaves from the Two Step Bird punch in Old Olive and Certainly Celery, then set those aside. I cut out the butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies Embosslit using my Big Shot, then sponged the edges with Daffodil Delight. I stamped the sentiment from the All Holidays set in Old Olive, then punched it out using the Designer Label punch. I just had some scrap strips of Whisper White that i inked the edges in a light brown and glued onto the card to create a fence. I then added the elements, then lastly, I put the metal frame on the sentiment, used my paper piercer to create the holes for the brads to go through, put in the brads, and put the whole thing on the Old Olive cardbase.

Super Simple Monday

yay! return of the simple!

For this card, i started with a River Rock cardbase, added a handcut piece of wild wasabi for the grass, a strip of wild wasabi for the stem, two leaves cut from a circle punch (punch the circle, then put it back in to create the leaf shape) a few circles in different sizes in Groovy Guava and Purely Pomegranate. The flower is made from teh scallop circle punch, then each one is folded twice and put in the shape of a flower. I added a button in the center, punched out a butterfly with sponged wings, a couple little rhinestones, and the letters from the Billboard Die Cut. I added faux stitching all around with either a pen marker, or white gel pen.

I think it took me longer to type this out than it took for me to make it! haha! Ok, maybe the stitching will take a few extra minutes, but it's easy!

My Sample card for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge is one that took me a while to figure out how to translate what i had in my mind to reality!

The challenge this week was specific colors, tempting Turqoise, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, and Certainly Celery. I mostly used punches for this card. I used the Build a Cupcake punch for the clouds, the 1 3/4 circle for the sun, Boho Blossoms for the flowers, and hand cut the hills and the rays for the sun. I used markers to create stitching, and My Digital Studio to make my own sentiment.

Gone a Little Cupcake Crazy!

i just got my hands on the Build A Cupcake punch......i think i am in love! is there anything this punch can't do? well, ok, it can't go grocery shopping for you, but I do love it! I have made SEVERAL cards since picking this thing up! here is one of lots that i will be posting! I decided on this one today because it is the easiest of the ones i have made, so it fits my Super Simple Monday category, today being Monday and all. I just put patterned paper and a strip of trim punched cardstock on Purely Pomegranate cardstock. I punched circles in Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa. I then stamped and punched the bottoms of the cupcakes, then ran some scrap paper through the big shot using the Perfect Polka dots embossing folder, then punched them out using the cupcake punch. I used the owl punch for the little hearts, then stamped the sentiment in black. if you have all your supplies ready to go, this card goes together really quickly!!

Turn Up the Heat!

For this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, we are turnin' up the heat! heat embossing, that is! that is the theme for this week. Here is my sample card. I used the Always set twig to stamp and then emboss in white on Crumb Cake cardstock for the background, and then i stamped and embossed the bird in black, then cut him out and used Dimensionals to put him on the card, i also did an extra branch to put in the birdies mouth. I used the Matchbox Die to cut out the mat for the senitment, then stamped, then cut out the sentiment from Great Friend. I used the Color Spritzer Tool and Early Espresso marker to create the spattering on the bottom of the card on Soft Suede cardstock, placed it on the card, sponged around the card with brown ink, and added pearls to finish it off.

ok, i know this looks a little dark, but it looks really pretty in real life! It has silver embossing with the grey which gives it that sparkle and shine.

This was done for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, which is a sketch challenge.

for the sentiment, i made and printed it from My Digital Studio, the papers are from the Neutrals patterned paper pack, and the hearts were made by first stamping and then embossing in silver the large heart from the Always set, then i used the hearts punch to punch them out, then i just glued them to grey cardstock, then trimmed around it to make mats.

Texture Time!

Allright! This weeks Challenge at Stampin' Royalty is all about texture! So for my sample, i gave it lots and lots!

I started by running the Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouhette panels through the Big Shot using Petals a Plenty and the Square Lattice embossing folders. I then punched out several of the flowers using the Boho Blossoms punch, misted them with water, crumpled them up, then uncrumpled them and let them dry (really only takes a few minutes for them to dry...then i punched the centers using the Owl and Build a Cupcake punches, then stamped and punched out the sentiment piece using the Decorative Label punch.

I put it all on a cardbase with a very vanilla mat and added lots of pretty pearls to finish it off. Again, this card really didn't take too much effort, but looks very nice.

Are Ya Feelin' Lucky?

This weeks challenge at Stampin' Royalty is St. Patricks themed! I kind of went with a more 'lucky' theme. but it has the 4 leaf clover, so that works, right? have you ever seen one? i was 'lucky' enough to see a few in the same field once. I thought that was pretty neat!

So this card was made with Garden Green and Black cardstock, garden green patterned paper, Old Olive ribbon, green brads, the hearts from the Heart to Heart punch, a button from the Brights Collection, and the sentiment was made with My Digital Studio, printed on Whisper White, then cut out!

Running in Circles

This is the card i made for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge.

I actually got the idea for this card from a wedding cake i saw online. (see image)

This is a great way to use scraps, too! I was able to use up several scrap pieces of white for the circles! I always love using every bit of my paper!

The funny thing about this card is, that I got my inspiration from this cake picture, and then after i made it, the very same day i saw that someone had a card challenge with almost the same layout! Great minds think alike, i guess! heehee!

Anyways, this is a card that YOU CAN DO! You can substitute any colors, and any sentiment you like, and it is a great card for MEN! coming up with cards for men seems to be the most difficlt thing for me.

For this card, i used Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand, and Whisper White. I used the 3/4 in ch circle punch. to get the circles lined up properly, i started at the bottom corner of the piece, then just put the first row along the bottom, placing them against each other. then i went to the next row up, and placed the first one right against the side, and right on top of the bottom row. repeat until you have a nice stacked bunch of circles!

This weeks Stampin' Royalty challenge is a sketch challenge! For this one, i used the Chic Boutique stamp set, and Pear Pizzaz, Peach Parfait, and Poppy Parade patterned papers. The cardbase is Poppy Parade, and I have to tell you, i think i love this color! It is so bright and fun! I used coordinating markers to color the image, and finished it off with a bow!

Celebrate Good Times

Here is one that i made during a birthday card making session several weeks ago. haven't had a lot of time lately to post much, but i am hoping that won't be the case for long!

This card is fairly simple to create, I used a lot of punches, which makes for a quick card! Just stamp the image 3 times, leaving enough room on each to punch it out, then color them, punch them with the smaller of the two square punches, then punch a mat for each in the color of your choice, then stamp the sentiment, punch it with the oval punch, then the scallop oval, then do your white (or whatever color you like) border, add a strip of patterned paper, and ribbon if you like, then assemble your card!

i know this seems like a lot of instruction, but if you break it down, it is really easy!

This weeks challenge over at Stampin' Royalty, is a color challenge! Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, and Baja Breeze. These colors say "guy" to me, even though i have seen some projects made with these colors for women!
So i went about making this card with a more masculine feel, and wanted to make a get well card. So I pulled out the Pun Fun set, stamped, colored, then cut out the whale, then used the small oval to punch out the words, then sponged that, used the scallop edge punch to make several strips for the water, cut out the circles, then glued the strips on and trimmed the edges, then i sponged the circle with Not Quite Navy. stamped the circles from the Apple Blossoms hostess set in Not Quite Navy, added a strip of Soft Suede with a smaller strip of Not Quite Navy, and added a bunch of silver brads.

I went with a valentines theme for this one. i just love those little flamingos!

The cardstock is actually Poppy Parade, Pretty in Pink, and the ink is Real Red. The patterned paper is from the hostess In Color Designer Sieries Paper Pack . added a rhinestone here and there and rounded the corners!

This weeks challenge over at Stampin' Royalty is Things with Wings! Owls have wings, right? Aren't they cute? they are so in love!

This card is actually a hybrid card. I made the sentiment using My Digital Studio! I then printed it onto Crumb Cake cardstock. I then stamped the heart strands in Cherry Cobbler, Cut out the panel and put it on a Chocolate Chip cardbase, then used my owl punch to create the owls and hearts. I used the leaf die cut for their little nest.

Sorry for my absence lately, there has been a lot going on in my little world latey!

So here is today's card, pretty easy to put together. You just need a cardbase, a couple panels, one stamped with the same image as on the main panel, and a main image block, stamped with a flower and shaded with a coordinating color using the sponge doubers, and then a sentiment, bordered with black (or whatever color you like) then all put together to make a lovely card! Really quick, really easy!

Oh, and I added a bling in the center of the flower!

This weeks color challenge over at Stampin' Royalty was one that at first i thought i was going to have a little trouble with, but it didn't take me long to figure out that i actually LOVE this color conbo, and I could have made dozens of cards using them!

The colors are Concord Crush, Marina Mist, & Old Olive. When i make cards using specific colors, I will usually just pull out those colors of cardstock, and play around with them a bit while thinking of what theme i would like to use. then I decide on a main image, then how I will do the matting, the embellishments, then the sentiments. That is my usual process. That's what i did here, and this is the final result!

This week's Stampin' Royalty Challenge is scrapbook pages! hooray! It is where i began 15 years ago! I still love scrapbooking, I just do it digitally now on My Digital Studio! It really makes it easy and fast. I made this page in about 20 minutes start to finish. the best part is, i can move things around, resize them, or adjust the colors to exactly what i need. I still love making things by hand, but digital scrapbooking is awesome!

Hello everyone! Here is this weeks sample for Stampin' Royalty's sketch challenge!

I used the Love You Much set, and the large circle punch and large Scallop Circle punch for the main image, used a marker to color only the portion i wanted to use for the word "Love", stamped it and cut it out, then stamped the hearts, colored them with my watercolor brush and punched them out with the Heart to Heart extra large punch. I used a black marker to create the border around the birdies, colored them with my watercolor brush, added another punched out heart above the birds, used the tiny hole puncher to create the holes in the scallops, and used some retired patterned paper for the background panels. Oh, and i used a Real Red marker on the "Love"

This card is actually easier than it looks. I stamped the image and sentiment, colored the image, punched out the images, and then the mat and scallop circle, and put it on a cardbase that has patterned paper and a border punched with the scallop edge trim border punch. Pretty easy! Might take about 15 minutes for everything including the coloring.

I wonder sometimes if we have a 'creativity' tank where if we over use it, it can deplete and need recharging somehow...

I feel like my creativity is tired! I have been in a mad dash the last few weeks trying to get ready for the craft bazaar that happened last week. It ended up being a complete success! so much so, that I have sold out of almost everything i took, including my cards! what didn't sell at the fair, people bought afterwards! I even had several orders for more! I can't keep up! I'm going to have to double my inventory for next year! I better get to work!

This card was made for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge, Bring on the Bling!

So that's what i did!

This card is even better in person, the camera just can't capture how pretty the Glass Glitter is in real life!

I used Crumb Cake cardbase, patterned paper from the Neutrals collection, the Champaigne Glass Glitter adhered with Sticky Strip, I embossed the images in gold, and added a few rhinestones. Not very difficult, really, it is just a matter of using the right colors, patterns, and embellishments.

For this one, I added patterned paper with a border, then embossed the reindeer in black, cut him out, then used markers on a stamp to create the sentiment, then used the oval punch to punch it out. The cutting out of the reindeer took the longest, but even that wasn't too bad. This one may take a little longer than 10 minutes, but not more than 15 once you have all the supplies ready to go, including the embossing materials. and it would be a fairly easy one to do lots of them.

after putting some patterned paper with a border on a green cardbase, I stamped the image on a circle of white, colored him in, added a scallop circle mat, then hand cut some holly leaves out of green cardstock and added buttons for holly. I stamped the sentiment and i was all done.

Here is today's project for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge! Winter Holidays! Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, my husband decided he wanted to "borrow" my monitor on the computer where i do photoshop my images to make them look nice. So I am left with a raw image.

This little snowman Christmas decoration was made with a dollar store frame. I started with a beautiful patterned paper from a few years back, but you can stamp snowflakes in Whisper White craft ink on Baja Breeze cardstock or paper, then i added some Whisper White cut into snow banks, then stamped misc. snowflakes and used circle punches to punch them out, and added die cut snowflakes in random pattens. The snowman is made with circle punches, and his buttons are black brads, I hand cut his arms, and used the little bird from Season of Friendship for his little buddy. I stamped the sentiment and saying from the Many Merry Messages and Snow Swirled sets. I drew the face on the snowman and added a little sliver of pumpkin pie for his nose. a little glitter and a few rhinestones and the project was complete!

I know this post is actually Monday night, but it is still technically Monday! : )
this one is really easy. You just need a circle punch, and a butterfly punch. I began by using a stampin' wheel to create the background pattern, but it would have looked good without that too.
I then added a small strip of turquoise cardstock to the bottom, and then a polka dot ribbon along the seam.
I happened to have a bunch of scraps of cardstock that were close in color, but just different enough. So I used the scraps to punch the butterflies, added rhinestones to them, layered them on the circles, and placed them on the card. All done!

Here is the card I made for this weeks challenge over at Stampin' Royalty! It's a color challenge, and we were to use Marina Mist, River Rock, Early Espresso, and Rich Razzleberry.

I started with a base of Marina Mist, then punched a scallop trim border in Early Espresso, put textured River Rock on that, stamped the roses from Fifth Avenue Floral in Rich Razzleberry then cut them out, used a blender pen to create the shading, stamped the sentiment from Sincere Salutations on River Rock then punched it out using the large oval punch, then punched a scaollop oval for the mat, and lastly, punched several leaves from the bird punch in Wild Wasabi, layered them all on the card, and as a final touch, i used an Early Espresso marker to create the stitching holes along the River Rock strip.

For this one, I hand cut the holly leaves and used small red buttons as the holly berries. I cut out the sentiment in silhouette style, and added a red bling on the snowflake!

Ok, so if you break it down, it's not that difficult. Stamp and color an image on a piece of white, put a mat on it, stamp a sentiment and cut it out in silhouette (love doing this!) the cardbase has patterned paper with a scallop trim border, and add a button on the bottom!

Here is my card for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge! Patterned Paper! The challenge is to use patterned paper as an element on the project to highlight it in some way. I used the super cute Candy Cane Christmas paper for this card, along with Blushing Bride, Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock. I used Real Red ink for the sentiment and to edge the candy cane and background paper. I used buttons from the Brights and Subtles collections.

I bet you are wondering how I made that candy cane? Easy! I had a candy cane shaped cookie cutter that i just traced onto the paper, then cut out! You can totally do that! just think of it...stars, angels,.....gingerbread men!

Ok, so now it's your turn! Get out that patterned paper (and if you are anything like me, you have HUNDREDS to choose from!) and start creating!

Today's card is easy! All you have to do is put patterned paper with a border on a cardbase, stamp on a panel (in this case, one cut out with the Top Note Die) with this easy stamp, then color the image! you can color it as detailed as you want! I also added glitter to the letters, but it is hard to see that in this photo...

Sorry I missed posting yesterday! Today is as good as any, huh?

Ok, so this one is actually pretty easy. I just stamped the trees in a row, added 'snow' with a grey marker, then stamped the snowflakes in grey. I then colored in the trees and stamped the sentiment. Plop it on a cardbase with some patterened paper, add some glitter (can't forget the glitter!) and you got yourself a card!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Inspirations

Today's card is one I made for this week's challenge over at Stampin' Royalty!

It is a picture inspiration, and so I took the colors, layout, and other things that stood out to me in the picture as the things i translated to the card.

I used Night of Navy, Real Red, and Sahara Sand cardstock, Sahara Sand patterned paper, gold brads, and used markers to color the wreath stamp from the Welcome Christmas set.

Todays card is one that has a few details, but is overall pretty easy. patterned paper with scallop edged gold cardstock strip, scalloped circle, and a stamped image on a white circle, then the sentiment stamped onto a scrap piece cut in an uneven style. This card may take a few extra minutes, only because of the scallop edge and die cutting the circles and scalloped mat. But it is worth the extra few minutes!

Here is a card that is fairly uncomplicated, it just takes a few steps. But they are easy steps! The image is from Merry Crittermas, which is so darn cute, I can hardly stand it! My son happens to love squirrels, so in honor of him, I made this card. It made him smile. (he's 18 by the way!)

Butterfly Garden

ok, are y'all ready for this weeks Stampin' Royalty challenge? Its a fun color challenge! I actually really like these colors! It did take me some serious thinking before I was able to come up with a final design, but I did have lots of fun making it!

The colors are:

Pear Pizzaz, Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, So Saffron

I basically used the Big Shot and a few different dies to cut out most of the elements( Top Note, Beautiful Wings, Birds & Blooms). I used the scallop oval and oval punches for the sentiment portion, and then stamped the stems using the Apple Blossoms set. I used markers to create the stitching.

Ok, If you have read my blog for any length of time, you will know I'm crazy about using my scraps to create something! Here is another example of how I was able to do just that. This is a very simple notecard, and all the pieces were scraps, and the stamping was easy! You will notice, however, that I followed the lines on the birdcages with a marker just to give them some color, and I also added a bling here and there.

If you already have little strips of paper like I did, this card would take less than 10 minutes to put together. Love that!

Its basically patterned paper with a border, a stamped and colored tree cut out in a circle, matted by a scalloped circle, and the sentiment stamped right on the cardbase.

This card was made for this weeks Stampin' Royalty Challenge of Ribbons, Ribbons, Ribbons!

I had made a ring out of cardboard, wrapped Old Olive ribbon around it, put brads as 'holly' added a bow, Stamped the sentiment and cut it out, layered them on a panel cut with the Top Note Die, then layered all those fun things on a Real Red panel with faux stitching made with white gel pen, and an Old Olive cardbase.

For this one, I just cut some patterned paper in a wavy edge, added letter stickers, punched 2 scallop circles in white, cut inward at each scallop to create petals, added a large pink button, leaves and a stem, some stitching drawn with a pen around the patterned paper portion, and inked the edges a bit with pink, oh, and drew a little smile on the flower to give it a face. Really very simple, just takes a few steps!
